Students Meet HRH Prince Edward.

23 sixth form students who are in different stages of the President’s Award Scheme at Gold Level, have met HRH Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, who visited Malta from the 15th to the 17th November as a special guest of the President’s Award Malta, in preparation for the forthcoming International Award Forum.

The students, together with other youngsters from other entities, had the opportunity to personally speak to HRH Prince Edward during an exhibition which was held at Scouts Headquarters in Floriana. When addressing the students, Prince Edward focused mainly on the youngsters’ achievement when working in a team.

Various items decorated the St. Aloysius stand – all items having to do with the 5 different sections of the Award. Rodmar Pulis, a 2nd year sixth form student who regularly represents Malta in international weightlifting competitions, demonstrated two different types of lifts to all those present. Rodmar is using weightlifting as his skill for President’s Award.

Later on during the same day, 40 St. Aloysius’ students who have recently completed the President’s Award programme, received the award from HRH Prince Edward during a ceremony which was held at the President’s Palace in Valletta. The President of Malta presided the ceremony. Parents, leaders and assessors were also invited.
