The University Chaplaincy has been taking advantage of the lull in student activity due to approaching exams, in order to plan for the second semester. The list of upcoming activities is long and varied and you are most welcome to participate where applicable!

  • Voluntary work preparations for experiences in Europe, Ethiopia and Malta. (Applications will come out end of January / first week February)
     
  • Trip to Rome and Assisi
     
  • DVD night – Next movie: ‘Not Without My Daughter’ - 16th February at 20.00hrs
     
  • Monastic Experience 17th – 20th February: The Chaplaincy will be offering this opportunity to a group of 15 persons who wish to live a monastic experience in Dublin, Ireland. We will be living with the Trappists of Mount Melleray Abbey, according to their rule of 'Ora et Labora'.
     
  • Fundraising Pancake Day - 21st February
     
  • Taize’ evening of prayer - 22nd February at 20.00hrs
     
  • United Worship - 28th February at 20.00hrs: Whatever group you might pertain to, this is a time of coming together to praise and worship the Lord. Everyone is invited to join and spread the word.
     
  • Silent Retreat (in English) - Ask, Seek, Knock, - Recieve, Find, Open: 9th - 11th March: Are you looking for some peace and quiet, do you need to reflect, are you wishing to take any major decision in life, do you wish to enhance your relationship with God, wanting to prepare yourself better during Lent? If so, then this is definitely an opportunity for you! Sr Maryanne Francalanza FCJ and Fr Michael Bugeja sj will be leading and directing this retreat at St Joseph Retreat House in Rabat. Price Euro 50.
     
  • Various Lenten reflections during the month of March (more details will be announced closer to the date)
     
  • Bioethics and Society – Exploration: This year chaplaincy has embarked on a series of lectures for a selected group of professionals and seminars are being held exploring the above the theme. Later on in the year there will be an open seminar as well as a book launch . More details to follow. (So far two seminars have been held already and another one is planned for the 27th March.)
