Re:Union - Reconnect, Remember, Refresh

On Sunday 13th January around 120 volunteers who had participated in a voluntary work experience with inYgo- the Jesuit Youth Network since 2000. Volunteers who went to Egypt, Ethiopia, Bari, Naples, Catania, Palermo, Algeria, Lourdes, Armagh as well as those who did volunteering with the Paulo Freire Institute in Zejtun were all invited. The Reunion started off with a simple Mass celebrated by the Provincial Fr. Paul Pace sj followed by a meeting. Fr. Jimmy Bartolo sj, Fr. Michael Bugeja sj and Fr. Edgar Busuttil sj also celebrated the Mass and attended the meeting.

The meeting involved a brief exercise for volunteers to reconnect with others who went to their own country. Then after a few photos to remember the times together as groups, Manuel Fenech and James Camilleri spoke about how voluntary work had marked their lives and how they carry the spirit with them now that it has been years past. The volunteers were then led through a short reflection and prayer time. Refreshments followed after the meeting.

We hope that this is the first step in a journey whereby we can accompany past volunteers in their journey and build closer companionship and collaboration.
