Thanksgiving Mass at Loyola House

In June we welcomed as our guests Fr Nirmal Raj and Fr Lourdu Xavier, the Provincial and the Treasurer respectively of Dumka-Raiganj Province.

In the evening of 1st June Fr Nirmal, in the domestic chapel, led a concelebrated Mass of Thanksgiving for the 50 years of Fr Robert Wirth’s priestly ordination and the 60th year in the Society of Frs Steno de Raffaele, Joe Gauci SaccoAlbert Said and John Scicluna.

The relatives, friends and benefactors of the Santal Mission filled the Chapel. In his homily Fr Nirmal briefly described the growth of the Santal Mission and the Province and profusely thanked the pioneering Maltese Jesuits as well as the benefactors in Malta and Gozo.

At the end of the Mass, Fr Nirmal presented the traditional Indian shawl to Fr Paul Pace (in absentia) and to Frs Wirth and Scicluna. Then he distributed a green stole to each of the concelebrants. Afterwards the  guests moved to the garden for a simple and enjoyable reception.
