JRS Malta in numbers

A snapshot of our activity in 2015:

  • We had 820 visits to our Drop-In service requesting advice/assistance on different issues
  • 157 individuals who came to our Drop In service were referred for in-depth services – of these 108 were referred for legal assistance and 49 for psychosocial support
  • 46 individuals were provided with individual psychological support
  • Social work support was provided in 88 cases (involving 111 adults and 50 children)
  • 150 individuals in detention were provided with information about asylum procedure
  • Legal assistance was provided to 217 individuals/family units on 221 issues
  • 165 migrants were provided with basic initial integration support, including help to fill in their CVs
  • 174 individuals were accompanied to hospital appointments, and offered help when it comes to administration of medication and the setting up of hospital appointments.

  • 3,000 primary and secondary students will be reached through our school outreach programme during the academic year 2015/2016. Through the Parish Outreach Programme 15 Christian groups/parishes were also reached in 2015
  • More than 30 migrants, mostly from West Africa, participate in a weekly Mass celebrated at Dar Manwel Magri, Msida
  • During the first part of 2015, Mass was celebrated every two weeks for a group of 20 East Africans in Floriana
